Pahurat & Chinatown in Bangkok
Although the sprawling of Chinese shops from the nearby Chinatown are slowly spilling over into Phahurat, South Asian restaurants and businesses are still prevalent in the area.
The area is also the site of some of the more unusual markets and shopping malls in Bangkok, including the sprawling Sampeng Market, the colonial-styled The Old Siam Plaza, and the new four-storey India Emporium
Pahurat Textile Market - Little India
The Pahurat district is Bangkok’s Little India, centre of the Indian community, who are mostly Sikh and the capital’s largest fabric market in Bangkok.
If you want to buy Thai textiles this is the place to visit. The choice is vast so don’t be in any hurry to buy, although you will be sure to get many offers. Take you time and check out at least a dozen before making a purchase
